Supreme Court Campaign Financing

Over $10 million has poured into the Wisconsin supreme court election from individuals and groups involved with promoting election disinformation and attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

Among the election-denying funders behind Kelly's run are anti-abortion thinktanks and Super Pacs, conservative billionaires and a constellation of groups funded by the Illinois billionaire Richard Uihlein.

Campaign finance reports show the group Fair Courts America, Inc, which is largely bankrolled by Uihlein, spent at least $1.5m in independent expenditures on pro-Kelly television ads before the 21 February primary. According to the Brennan Center for Justice, Fair Courts America has booked more than $3.9m in ads scheduled to run by 4 April.

Kelly has proven he will overturn elections if he did not like the results. He would certainly support Wisconsin's gerrymandered legislative districts and abortion laws similar to the 1849 ban. Voters know this because Dan Kelly wants to remain supremely reliable to the far-right groups who are propping him up.

Janet Protasiewicz has been transparent in calling legislative maps "rigged" and saying that women's health care decisions should be made by women, not legislators or courts. This puts her squarely in line with a majority of Wisconsin voters. Wisconsin needs her moderate views on a Supreme Court that has been reliably conservative for too long. Please help Wisconsin return to our tradition of moderation by voting for Janet Protasiewicz on April 4th.
